The classroom library is such an integral part of the classroom. It is where kids get to choose text that interests them and that they want to read. Having a library that is inviting and well organized makes choosing books and getting reading even easier.

Intermdiate Books I loved in 2011
This year proved great in choices of books to read. I am one of those readers that once I start a series with an author I will keep reading it to see what happens to the characters. Some favorite series with a new edition this year were:
Clementine and the Family Meeting by Sara Pennypacker
School Days According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney
Gooney Bird on the Map by Lois Lowry and Middy Thomas
Another favorite author who published a great new book this year was Andrew Clements. His latest school story titled Toublemaker which he wrote with Mark Elliott really resonated with fifth and sixth grade boys that I recommended it to.
Happy Reading in 2012!
